The Bajaj Auto has decided to discontinue Pulsar 135LS and Avenger Street 150 from the Indian market. The production of Bajaj Pulsar 135LS has been stopped by the company due to low demand in the market. But despite the fact, the Pulsar 135LS will continue to be in production for abroad markets. The Bajaj is not planning to introduce Pulsar 135LS again in the market instead they are introducing Pulsar 150 with upgrades due to a considerable amount of enthusiasm. The upgraded Pulsar 150 will get disc brakes at front and rear wheels, and additionally a more wider rear tyre and a split seat taken from the Pulsar 180.
Not only the low demand but the competition from the rival brands has also played a key role to put down the sales of Bajaj Pulsar 135LS. As a result, Bajaj has to end the last financial year with just 16% of market share, while the company expected to close the sales of Bajaj Pulsar 135LS by 24% of market share by the end of FY18.
Bajaj Auto’s official site likewise doesn’t list the Avenger Street 150 any longer. The Bajaj Auto states that the Avenger Street 150 has not been suspended, but rather that it has been “moved up to the Avenger Street 180”. What the Street 180 offers is a somewhat more intensive entry-level cruiser, and has supplanted the Avenger Street 180. The Avenger Street 180 is facing tough competition by the launch of Suzuki Intruder under cruiser segment.
