The Britain based scooter manufacturer Scomadi is entering to the Indian scooter market. With its arrival the scooter market in India is about to get more interesting. Scomadi is known for manufacturing Lambretta retro scooters, in India they are launching scooters by joining hands with AJ Performance, a Pune based repair and maintenance company of luxury and performance cars.
Scomadi will begin its journey in India by the launch of model TT125 by May 2018. The scooter will be imported from Thailand via the CBU route and distribute through AJ Performance in India market. The customers will have the opportunity to customize their scooters according to their priority. The company also provide an impressive list of optional accessories like windscreens, seats, luggage racks and more to choose along with various schemes and combinations for customers. However, the customers will need to wait about three months get the accessories delivered.
The retro-styled TT125 scooter manufactured by Scomadi features a single-pod fully digital instrument cluster, LED headlight with DRLs and taillights housed in a chrome surround. However, the company failed to give enough space for underseat storage. But the company has tried to compensate this by adding a lockable storage space at the front.
The TT125 borrow the 125cc engine of Aprilla but with a different bore/stroke dimensions and a fuel-injection system. The engine is capable to produce a maximum power of 11PS at 7300 rpm. The power can be further boosted up to 15PS by the upgrade of exhaust and optional remap offered by the company. The TT125 offers the performance which put down other 125cc sccooters in India. The TT125 is built on a tubular space frame. The front gets two hydraulic preload-adjustable shock absorbers with coil springs and rear gets four-step preload-adjustable shock absorber with coil spring. Disc brakes are given for both front and rear. Also feature a dual-channel ABS unit.
The Scomadi TT125 is priced at Rs.1.98 lakh without accessories. The premium price tag might make the buyers to choose other 125cc scooter which is priced lower than TT125. TVS NTorq, Aprilia SR 125 and Honda Grazia are the rivals of Scomadi TT125 in Indian market.
