The Ford company stopped the production of their current Aspire which was launched under sedan segment in India in 2015. The car is expected to receive upgrades and relaunch later by the mid-2018. It seems that since the launch in 2015, 3,01,394 units of the Ford Aspire has been rolled from their plant in India.
In 2015, Ford first launched the Aspire sedan as the Ford Figo Aspire. Later Ford take out the Figo tag and renamed it Ford Aspire by last year. For Ford, this is perfect time to upgrade Aspire as it has already completed three years in the market. And its rivals are on the path to receive upgrade. Honda is set to launch the new-gen Amaze by this year. The new Ford Aspire is expected to receive new cosmetic updates and styling. Also expected to get updates on front and rear section, new alloy wheels, reworked interior with new touchscreen infotainment system.
Ford Aspire petrol variant expected to get the new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Dragon series engine, which makes about 94 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque. And diesel variant will continue to feature the 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine will continue to serve with 99bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. It will have 5-speed manual gearbox and possibly the 5-speed automatic torque converter which is in EcoSport.
