Hyundai had introduced its i20 Active facelift during 2018 auto expo. The i20 Active is based on the standard i20 and will share the same design as the premium hatchback but will come with the typical crossover looks like roof rails, skid plate and the black cladding on the sides. This car will be launched in India soon.
The most remarkable thing is that Hyundai has not made any changes to the front of the i20 Active while compared to the pre-facelift i20. But major changes will be seen in the rear. Revised Tale-Lights and Registration Plates have been positioned above Tailgate in i20 Active. Phantom Black Contrast Roof and Two-Tone Paint Option will be offered in this European model but this feature can be given in the Indian model too. According to Standard i20, a new pattern will be given on seat upholstery. A new 7-speed dual-clutch auto box and the idle stop-start system will be provided at European Specifications i20 Active, which will serve as a booster for mileage.
In India i20 Active will be equipped with 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine which generates a power of 83 bhp and the 1.4-litre diesel which will churn out 89 bhp. At present, the 5-speed manual transmission will be given for petrol version of i20 Active and 6-speed manual transmission for the diesel version. But now the most important thing is that Hyundai will also offer CVT in its new I20 Facelift. The price of the new i20 Active in India can be slightly higher or lower than the current model.
At present, the price of i20 ranges from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Hyundai i20 Active Facelift will compete with the Honda WR-V. Honda recently launched its special edition Edge (EDGE) of its popular crossover car WR-V in India. The company has kept the price of its petrol variant at Rs 8.01 lakh and diesel variants of 9.01 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
